OCBA - Update on Non-Submit Medicare Set-Asides: Observations & Predictions for 2024

Join us on March 8, 2024, for the OCBA Workers' Compensation Section Meeting, featuring Heather Sanderson, CEO of Sanderson Firm PLLC, as our speaker. From 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, Heather will provide an insightful update on Non-Submit Medicare Set-Asides (MSAs), sharing observations and making predictions for the year ahead.

In early 2022, CMS's stance on Non-Submit MSAs suggested a shift, hinting at potential challenges for those not submitted for approval. However, the narrative changed quickly, with CMS clarifying their position to focus on instances where there might be a burden shift to CMS. As we move into 2024, the use of Non-Submit MSAs continues without significant challenges from CMS, maintaining their role as a vital tool for settlements. This session will also cover the latest discussions around CMS potentially requiring MSA amounts to be reported under MMSEA Section 111.

This meeting is essential for attorneys and professionals in the workers' compensation field, offering 1.00 CLE Credit for full participation. Ensure your place by registering in advance and downloading the registration flyer. For any OCBA members in Orange County, check your profile for login details or contact info@ocbar.org for assistance. Note that cancellations must be communicated at least three business days in advance for a refund.

Don't miss this opportunity to gain valuable insights into Non-Submit MSAs and prepare for the evolving landscape in 2024.
