Surgery Removed from MSA After Physician Clarification

MSA

A client’s WCMSA included a potential left total hip arthroplasty (THA), pursuant to CMS’ guidance, because it was not clear from the medical records provided whether the procedure was related to the claimed work injury or not.

At the client’s request, Sanderson Firm contacted the physician and verified that the THA was not recommended in relation to the work injury. We revised the report to remove the THA and corresponding post-operative physical therapy, which resulted in a reduction of over $44,000.
